(Text in Swedish)

Einar Hylander (1913-1989) was born in Göteborg and became as an adult first involved in the family business and later active as an actor and director. He then changed his career and became an artist, making his debut at the age of 64. Collage was the art form that established him as an artist but Einar Hylander is perhaps most known for his environmental works where an apartment on the inner court of a house on Narvavägen in Stockholm is preserved as an art work and hold in trust by the Moderna Museet.

In this catalogue, accompanying a major exhibition held at Waldemarsudde in 2008, Einar Hylander is shown in full figure, with emphasis on his collages of the 1970s and 80s.
