Hans Krondahl - Textile Artist
(Text in Swedish)
Since the early 1960's, Hans Krondahl counts as one of Sweden's leading textile artists and pattern designers. His colourful, expressive tapestries and other works hang on the walls of great museums in Sweden and abroad. They are often inspired by his many travels around the world, and – not the least – by another fellow traveller, Karen Blixen. Her literary works has always stimulated Hans Krondahl, clearly visible in a work like the sketch “African Letters', where the face of Karen Blixen can be seen.
“To Garbo – Homage with Rose Brocade, Still Picture and Three Oriental Hideouts' is another of Krondahl's personal favourites. It consists of four textile works, executed in 1984 for the Swedish Institute and now at the Nationalmuseum. The book is richly illustrated with the colourful and personal works of Hans Krondahl.
